Katelyn Duncan of Springtown High School is heading to Austin to present her latest artwork titled “Night in Bloom” with the hope of earning a Gold Seal Award at the Visual Arts Scholastic Event April 24-25 at San Marcos High School. The highly competitive state finals recognizes exemplary pieces of artwork made by high school students across the state.
This is the second time in Duncan’s academic art career in which she will compete for a Gold Seal.
“Now that I’ve been to state before, I know what to expect and I am definitely a lot less nervous,” Duncan said.
