Brookshire’s, located at 501 E. Highway 199, continues its support for the Springtown community following storms and an EF-1 tornado that moved through the area Saturday evening, April 25.

The grocer will resume its ice donation Wednesday, April 29, starting at 10 a.m., with one free bag of ice per community member while resources last.

The ice donation is intended to assist residents and emergency response efforts as the community continues recovery efforts and cleanup following the storm’s impact, which includes widespread power outages and disruption to essential services.

“It’s an outstanding feeling,” said Brookshire’s Store Director Kendall Jamison, “Brad Brookshire has designed a company that always wants to support our communities. As a lot of people are still without power — the company has allowed us to bring a truckload to help the folks as their refrigerators are out. It’s a good feeling to give back at any level.”

Brittney Jones, a Springtown resident who remains without power at her home and received a bag of ice, said she is appreciative of the ongoing community support.

“I just thank God for this community,” she said. “I just love our little town. Everyone’s coming together and just helping one another. I just thank God for them.”
