Residents and volunteers gathered Saturday, May 16, for the Community Clean Up and Shred Day, spending the late morning and early afternoon tackling beautification projects across Springtown Park. The event allowed residents an opportunity to safely dispose of sensitive documents by placing them in a mobile shredding truck parked outside City Hall.
Council member Scott Richardson was among a team of volunteers who repainted the public restroom area located within the park; he said the event reflected the pride many residents have in their community.
“We’re just working hard, keeping the city clean — it feels great,” Richardson said. “I take a lot of pride in this community, and we want to keep it looking nice for everybody — all the people that live here, the people that visit our community (and) just driving through.”
