In anticipation of a presentation from the Parker County Public Utility Agency at its June 25 meeting, Springtown city council discussed the city’s strong water infrastructure and the potential benefits of joining the regional water partnership during its Thursday, May 28 council meeting.

Mayor Mike Kelley and city staff highlighted Springtown’s unique position among Parker County communities due to its access to surface water from Eagle Mountain Lake, while many neighboring communities still rely primarily on groundwater wells which are now unsustainable resources of water.

“Springtown is in a great position uniquely compared to nearly anybody in the county — we have a ‘straw in the drink’ at Eagle Mountain. What a blessing to have that,” Kelley said.
