Upper Trinity Groundwater Conservation District field technician and education specialist Zane Bearden encouraged residents to take advantage of free programs and resources available to private well owners during the Thursday, May 28 Springtown Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon.
Bearden said residents with private wells can register their wells with the district, which will allow staff to better track groundwater conditions while keeping owners informed. The voluntary well monitoring program also provides free quarterly measurements of static water levels for registered wells.
“We’ll come out four times a year and measure your static water level,” Bearden said. “It helps us establish a trend of how the aquifer is doing beneath your property and we give that data to you all as well.”
