Families gathered at the Springtown Legends Museum Wednesday, June 24 to learn the traditional process of making bread with sourdough starter.

Museum Coordinator Amy Hedges said the 5,000-year-old practice is a great hands-on activity to help preserve a practical life skill that is becoming less common among younger generations.

“It’s a life skill that’s kind of dying out,” Hedges said. “It’s so easy that small kids could do it and learn from it.”
