The Springtown City Council discussed concerns Thursday, July 23 about whether residents could unintentionally stop receiving severe weather warnings when opting out of other messages from the city’s Blackboard Connect/Connect-CTY system.

Martin said the Blackboard emergency alert system was effective during the April tornado and provided residents with advance warning.
