The Springtown City Council expressed support for a 3% salary increase and up to 2% in merit pay for city employees during a special meeting Thursday, July 30.

City Administrator David Miller said the salary proposal is intended to help Springtown compete with surrounding cities for employees, particularly in the police and public works departments.

“If we’re going to remain conservative in our numbers, which we have always remained, we don’t have a great deal of flexibility with our salary numbers this year,” Miller said.
