Residents gathered Saturday, Aug. 15 for the Hands Up for Mental Health Community Event, which provided family-friendly activities and conversations aimed at raising mental health awareness among adults.
The free event, held at First United Methodist Church, featured a bounce house, face painting, a balloon artist, therapy animals and food trucks while also connecting families to resources close to home.
Emily Andrews, director of prevention for Serenity Impact in Weatherford, opened the workshop schedule with a discussion about mental health awareness.
