Five years after becoming office manager at Neighbor to Neighbors food pantry, Laura Carter reflected on the unexpected role she took on and the changes she has seen at the pantry.
“I was a legal assistant for 37 years,” Carter said. “I wanted to be someplace where I could do some good. I thought I was going to hand out food. I didn’t realize I was going to be the office manager, but they gave me the opportunity and I love it.”
When she first arrived, she said the pantry relied on aging refrigerators and coolers.
