Springtown ISD leaders presented the State of the District during the Springtown Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon Thursday, Sept. 24, highlighting academic progress and plans for continued student growth.
Superintendent Shane Strickland said the district is not currently a recapture district and explained how the state’s recapture system works for districts that collect more local revenue than they are allowed to keep per student.
According to the presentation, more than half the district’s general operating revenue — 56.1% — comes from the state, while 40.5% comes from local funding and 3.4% from federal funding.
