Parker County Citizen EMS is a volunteer nonprofit group dedicated to supporting and recognizing first responders throughout Parker County. Since its inception nearly three years ago, the organization has raised funds for lifesaving equipment and supported EMS personnel serving the community.

The organization began after former Parker County Hospital District EMS Director Jim Backus approached Chris and Barbara Hummell, owners of Weatherford Battery and Electric, where Backus sends ambulances for service.

“He called and asked us if we could consider starting a support group for them,” Barbara Hummel said.
